Post #0: Prior Experiences with Technology and What I Hope to Learn in EME2040
In the past, my experiences with technology have helped set me apart from my peers around me. In middle school I became interested in making films. This led me to teach myself how to learn various programs such as Windows Movie Maker and Sony Vegas Studio. These programs, specifically Sony Vegas, have interfaces that require practice and multiple hours to understand the technology. In addition to film editing, I also dabble in music production with programs like Audacity and Melodyne. I'm not super well-versed in Photoshop, but can use programs like PowerPoint and Paint to my advantage for photo editing.
In this class, I would like to fully understand all the capabilities of Microsoft Excel and whatever I'm not aware of on Windows. Spreadsheets are a valuable piece of software that can aid in my theatre major. The organization and charts can be useful for scheduling and money managing.

That is very interesting that you became interested in making films! I have always been interested in editing videos and clips but haven't gotten around to learning how to do it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Professional video design tools can be very tricky to learn if you want to teach yourself with limited experience, but the good news is, once you get started, they are pretty much the same. I am very glad to have you as an non-education major student in class and I believe you can bring a lot of amazing experience and ideas to us!
