Microsoft Word is a very useful tool, especially for students. For specific formatting guides, Word has a very accessible interface that makes using MLA or APA formatting for writing papers very simple. MS Word also includes an editing follower that will track any changes an editor makes to your paper and will highlight those changes. In addition, the notes tool can easily put in side comments by editors and the user without altering the paper itself. My teachers introduced me to the editing tools and have greatly impact how I edit my papers.

To my knowledge, copyright works differently in an educational setting. For example, showing a film or piece of entertainment doesn't require a viewing license or purchasing of rights when shown in an educational setting. Also, the sharing of excerpts from books for educational purposes doesn't violate fair use laws, but doesn't not condone the sharing of this content outside of that setting. 

In Chapter 9, we see some issues discussed such as cyber-bullying, bridging the digital divide and sexting. To try to combat these in my classroom, i would use modern texts that would show the dangers. Shows like the Laramie Project and Dear Evan Hansen highlight the bullying going on in a very digital sense. Also, creating a sex-positive environment, without backlash from parents, is also important. Allowing students to come up to you and confide is a big part of being a responsible teacher, i believe. The digital divide is difficult when in towns with different SES. Trying to allow students to read texts in class or have a hard copy to take home is important. Or to try to make digital, at-home activities optional or for extra credit.
